Used Hosiery: Bungee Cord Replacements #2

Generally speaking bungee cords are used for things which need to be tied down snugly and securely. However, there are times, when you will need to use some kind of cord that expands and contracts to fit a task, and the cord will not need to pull very hard.

Read the remainder of my post for how to use hosiery instead of bungee cords.

This blog post is the second part in a small series about how you can make the best use of your damaged hosiery, when using them instead of bungee cords.

You could take your hosiery loop a step further, by creating a pouch on your loop. You would need a pair of control top hosiery that has a gusset.

First, sew up the waist band and cut open the gusset, so that the panty portion would become the pouch. Be sure to not cut seam of the gusset. Cut only the main portion of the gusset.

Finally, fasten the loop's knot to a wall or ceiling.

I imagine this being useful for preventing a bike from falling over, and allowing us to keep a separate set of tools in the pouch. When you park or remove your bike, you might notice something wrong, so you just reach into your pouch and adjust.

Can you think of any other way to use a loop and a pouch? Let us know in the comments below.
